there's a cat on my head and i forgot...

As I type this, Jett is sitting on my head. Jett is my female cat, and yes, she is named after Joan Jett.

She's badass.

My cat, however, is not badass. She is overly affectionate and loud and annoying. I didn't know this when I got her though. She is pretty though, so there's that.

By the way, that picture is from my long-neglected DeviantArt site. Go check it out if you're into amateurish photography and such. I promise to get a camera in my hands soon again.

Anyway. As the title suggests, I forgot something. This week it was to write my Monday Random 5 post. As I have said before, I am lazy. And beside's that it's been a crappy week. I just got done working a 7 day stretch at work dealing with Halloween and Christmas sets (I work in the seasonal area of a department store) and my 80-something year old grandma has been in the hospital. I don't live close enough to visit her easily, so here I sit, 3 hours north worrying. Not to mention all the schoolwork I have this quarter. Whatever; there's my excuse. I'll try to remember next week. No promises though.

(late) monday random five

Totally failed to write my blog yesterday. The only day I promised myself I would post faithfully. Heh. I have no excuse other than I'm lazy. Whatever, sue me.

So, without further adieu: Ambie's Monday Random Five!

1. I still remember my first day of kindergarten, and making my first friend. We are still friends today.
2. One of my favorite guilty-pleasure TV shows is Jerseylicious...I know, right?
3. Along those same lines, I have promised myself to never watch that Honey Booboo show, but I probably will...
4. I hate socks and only wear them when I absolutely have to.
5. I am terrible at saving money.

sick days and napping children

So I have been sick for the past few days. Which sucks, I guess it's time for my flu shot again! Anyway, the best part about being sick is laying on my couch in my pajamas watching Netflix all day! (Which isn't any different than a normal day off other than I'm high on cold meds and the movies are funnier.)

If you know anything about me, you know that I thrive on terrible movies. Awful, B-rated movies. Take right now, I am watching Blubberella and it is OMG AWESOME!! Another one of my favorite movies is She. Seriously. Amazing piece of cinema there. But I digress.

My youngest son Jacob astounds me with his ability to fall asleep anywhere, in the oddest positions. Example:

He fell asleep like this earlier this week while waiting on me to have dinner ready. Talent.

So...I present you with: Ambie's Monday Random Five!!!


1. I love the smell of burning leaves.
2. My favorite card game is euchre (even though I am not very good lol).
3. I someday want to own a farm big enough to have some chickens, goats, pigs and maybe a cow and some horses.
4. I hate crickets!! I would rather deal with spiders than crickets!!
5. I wish I was more artistically inclined.
